Who says you can’t ever return home?
Okay, while Madison, Georgia isn’t
home in the true sense for Nashville-based alternative county music musician, Nathan Beaver
, it is a place that has special meaning to him.
And on November 6, he returns to Amici's Italian Cafe
in downtown Madison, where he once hung out and played during his tenure in the town, to perform to what he calls more of a homecoming that an actual show.
“Madison is very charming,” he says. “I find myself at time missing the time I was there and the folks I met in Madison.”
Based in the small southern town that is perhaps best known as one of the places that Sherman refused to burn because of its beauty, it was in 2003-06 that Beaver worked at Southern Cross Ranch
while honing his musical side. He refers to those years as a “creative time,” and completed nearly all of his songs featured on his album, Universally You
during that time.
Even though he’s based in Nashville now, which he says is great and is coming to his own in the Music City, he misses the idea of Madison.
“It’s a cool place. It’s almost as if it’s (Madison) frozen in time.”
Nathan Beaver will be playing at Amici on November 6, along with two of his friends, Mike Killeen and Spencer Smith. According to Beaver, music is expected to start around 9:30 p.m. There’s no cover charge to attend. Beaver adds, “Expect a party and a fun night of music.”
