No one can celebrate the holidays quite like Gaylord Opryland. The Nashville-Tenn.-based property knows how to get everyone’s spirits up for the season.
And this year is proving to be no different.
Through January 3, 2012, you can enjoy Gaylord Opryland’s 28th annual A Country Christmas.
In addition to such favorites as Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes
and Louise Mandrell’s Christmas Dinner Party
, this year’s ICE!
features DreamWorks’ Merry Madagascar. Yes, artisans have worked to bring to form two million pounds of extremely large and colorful ice sculptures of the characters as well as 20-foot-tall ice slides.
And that’s just the beginning.
There’s also DreamWorks’ Holiday Shrektacular
, a street party with many of the popular characters from Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and more. The Holly Jolly Town Square (through January 1; $16.95/adult, $9.95/child, age 4-11 and free/child, age 4 and under) includes live entertainment, a holiday kids train, crafts and more. Complete your holiday shopping at Treasures for the Holidays (through December 18) featuring over 40 merchants from across the country. Then there’s Photos with Santa (through December 24), carriage rides (through December 31) and the two-million Christmas lights on display (through January 3.)
Whew! This only scratches the surface of the activities/events
Gaylord Opryland has to offer this holiday season.
Don’t worry if you can’t (or don’t want to) get everything done in one day. Make it a weekend experience with either a one- or two-nights package
offered by the property.
