Unique Stays with Luxury Living Savannah

Tammy Jo Long admits she has an obsession - an obsession restoring old homes.
It was this obsession, along with some other factors that led her in early 2000s to renovation old homes in Savannah, Ga., and turn them into luxury vacation properties.
“There was a need for this market in Savannah,” she says. “It's a unique, dynamic and an interesting town famous for its rich history and architecture.”
Less than a decade later Luxury Living Savannah was established with a portfolio of distinctly different historic homes that have won numerous accolades. During the renovations, Long paid attention to even the smallest details with the properties. Each one is furnished with period-correct antiques. Taking it a step further, many feature antique heart pine floors, original fireplace mantels and more. She says the rentals are known for their bathrooms and kitchens.
“Each property is special. The decor reflects the spirit and style of each home.”
Whether it's a romantic getaway for two, a family vacation or a girlfriend getaway, your rental options include one to three vacation rentals to four to eight bedroom vacation homes.

  • The Wedding Cake Collection features the popular Wedding Cake mansion, the most photographed home in the city. Accommodating up to 10 guests, there's a choice of renting one or more of its four floors. There's also a garden suite (sleeps six) and a carriage house (sleeps four), both can be rented separately from the mansion. For large gatherings, the entire property can be rented for up to 20 people.
  • The Forsyth Park Collection is home to the largest private garden in the city. Be sure to look for the bamboo and towering fountain. There's also a side yard, suitable for gatherings as well. The collection include the mansion (sleeps up to 10), garden suite (sleeps up to six) and carriage house (sleeps up to four.) Like the Wedding Cake Collection, the entire property can be rented for up to 20 guests.
  • Located a block and a half from River Street, the Washington Square Collection features a main house (sleeps up to 10) and a carriage house (sleeps up to six.) Both can be rented as one and can accommodate up to 16 guests.
  • The Jones Street Suites, situated in the heart of Savannah's National Historic Landmark District, has four suites and one carriage house. The largest suite, Monterey Square sleeps up to six, followed by Chippewa Square and Johnson Square Carriage House, both sleep up to four. The Wright Square Suite accommodates up to two.
  • Located across the street from The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the Cathedral Inn Suites offer threes suites. The Cathedral Inn sleeps up to six, while Abercorn and Liberty separately sleep up to four.

“The properties are an experience,” comments Long. “When you stay at one, you're staying in a piece of history. Some homes are even haunted.”
All include modern amenities such as TVs, DVD and/or VCRs, and more. You can step-up your vacation by adding premium services like airport pick-up, private chef, pre-stocked refrigerator and other options.
In addition to the Savannah collection, Long also offers a Living Luxury Tybee collection. Escape to Tybee Island with your own rental home. Each includes private beach access and decks to take in the views.
